Crazy parking in Tunbridge Wells

Comments (1)

WE know it is a nightmare parking in Tunbridge Wells.

But this motorist has gone to extreme lengths to park his silver Audi in London Road today.

In the past the borough council has come under fire from motorists and traders for rocketing parking prices that force people into nearby towns.

Yalding resident Marianne Smith told the Courier parking costs in Tunbridge Wells put her off visiting.

She said: "I love Tunbridge Wells, it has got so much going for it, but if they want people to come into the town, they have to look after the parking interests of visitors."

I am born and bred in TW and I have very happy memories of growing up in the town. My family and I were forced to move to Tonbridge due to high house prices and soaring costs, despite having good jobs. We now no longer even visit the town due to ridiculous parking costs when you are actually lucky enough to find a parking space at all. The town is always gridlocked and no longer a pleasure to visit. The cinema site is a disgrace and in the centre of town does not give a good impression to tourists. The town centre is now a no-go area at night, I no longer feel safe walking the streets. Please bring this lovely town back to what it once was.
