ROCK legend Roger Daltrey offered his star-quality advice to young people in Heathfield.

The Who frontman spoke to the latest batch of graduates on the Heathfield Works! programme and gave out their certificates on Friday afternoon.

Frances Conway, one of the young people's mentors, said: "Roger was very inspiring and motivating. He was very overwhelmed by the support of the community and how everybody has been working together to make this programme successful."

Tomorrow's People charity, which runs the programme, has so far supported 30 young people into permanent employment from engineering to catering.

Mrs Conway added: "It is recognising the talent they have and keeping it in Heathfield."

Recruitment is now starting for the next programme for 16 to 19-year-olds on July 16.
