PREPARE to wrap up warm. The clocks have gone back, the leaves are falling from the trees and it is that time of the year when we mark Guy Fawkes Night with a big bonfire and fireworks.
Despite the recession it looks like we will be celebrating with a bang.
Saturday November 1
Herne Bay Football Club, Stanley Gardens, Herne Bay. Gates open at 5.45pm for a 6.30pm start.
Tickets cost £2 for adults and £1 for under-16s from Gold 'N' Gifts and Wilbee and Son Estate Agents, Mortimer Street and the Visitor Information Centre, Bandstand, Central Parade, Herne Bay.
Tyler Hill bonfire night. Gates open 6pm, bonfire 7.30pm, fireworks 8.15pm. Tickets £6 adults and £3 children on the night or £3 and £2 in advance.Call Blean village stores on 01227 471243
Wednesday November 5
Whitstable Town, Belmont Ground, Whitstable. Gates open 7pm, penalty shoot-out for youngsters followed by fireworks at 8pm. Drinks and food. Tickets £4 for adults and £1 for children on the gate (£3 in advance from local shops and the football ground this Saturday).
All Saints vicarage, Church Street, Whitstable. Hot dogs and doughnuts but no sparklers. Gates open 6.15pm, bonfire at 6.45pm, fireworks at 7pm. Tickets £4 and £1.
Saturday, November 8.
Mount Ephraim, Hernhill, Nr Faversham. Gates open 6pm, start 7.30pm. Tickets £8 in advance or £10 on the night. Three children under-16 get in free with an adult. Tickets from the Visitor Information Centre in the Bandstand, Central Parade, Herne Bay, Staines Farm Shop in High Street, Whitstable, or the Visitor Information Centre in Oxford Street, Whitstable.
