SEVERAL thousand pounds worth of stock was nicked during a huge shoplifting raid of Marks & Spencer in Dover yesterday.
A man and woman, both from outside the area, were arrested on suspicion of theft at 5.46pm last night and remain in custody.
A car pulled up to the rear of the store to enable the getaway.
Officers made an attempt to stop the vehicle near the Plough pub in Folkestone Road, but didn't complete the arrest until a chase had ensued to Hougham.
Kent Police confirmed "several thousand" pounds worth of stock was taken and later seized.
The pair has been arrested on suspicion of theft.
