THANET golfer Max Orrin has missed out on final qualifying for the Open by one shot.
The England international, 17, carded a round of 73 at the East Sussex National to fall agonisingly short in Monday's regional qualifying round.
Orrin's North Foreland clubmates Darren Parris and Aaron Galbraith were also eliminated at the first hurdle.
Parris, who qualified for 2006 Open at Liverpool, went round in 75 while Galbraith finished way back on 85.
The Open takes place at Royal St George's, Sandwich, from July 14-17.
