On the buses: Whitstable bride Jules Serkin and her new hubby Gavin with their unusual wedding transport
GUESTS at the wedding of Jules and Gavin Serkin went on a magical mystery tour.
They climbed aboard an open-top double-decker bus from the couple's home in Tankerton and were taken to Canterbury register office for the service.
Then, on the way to the reception at Herne Bay's Le Petit Poisson restaurant, the bus stopped at Swalecliffe Community Centre so the couple could vote in the city council elections on Thursday.
Mother-of-three Jules, who runs her own public relations company, Press Up, met journalist Gavin, head of emerging markets in Europe and Africa at the Bloomberg news agency, 17 years ago at a party. They finally tied the knot on Gavin's 40th birthday.
The best man was Gavin's best friend from school days, Elliott Gerner.
The bridegroom's nephew, Jaeden Harris, 3, was page boy and niece Hannah Pearl, 10, was bridesmaid.
Guests were left "all shook up" when the evening reception was "gatecrashed" by Elvis impersonator Neil Duncan of Whitstable, as a special surprise secretly arranged by the bride.
The couple honeymooned in Spain.
