THE long awaited opening of Edenbridge’s new community centre will take place tomorrow.
The Eden Centre, on Four Elms Road, has been in the pipeline for years following the closure of the old Eden Valley School on the same site in 2002.
A host of town groups has moved in to operate from the £2.2 million centre, including the Eden Baptist Church and the Kent County Council-owned library.
The milestone moment will be celebrated from 2 to 4pm, with a range of activities and speeches to mark an historic day for the town.
Visitors will be welcomed by a choir and have the chance to get a free health check, create a smoothie by pedalling on a fitness bike, have a go on a dance mat and see demonstrations by staff showing everything the centre offers.
