A MAN is in a life-threatening condition after he was rescued from a lake at Crossways Business Park in Dartford this morning.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, was found after being spotted swiming in Cotton Lake in Galleon Boulevard near the Wharf pub.

Emergency services tried to resuscitate him at the scene but he was taken to King's College Hospital in a life-threatening condition.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service sent two appliances from Dartford and Larkfield and an inland water team to assist Kent Police at 10am. Fire crews stood down at 11.22am but officers are still at the scene investigating the circumstances.

A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said: "The man was rescued from the lake. Our crews carried out resuscitation attempts before the man was taken to King's College Hospital in a life-threatening condition."
