A STRETCH of the M20 between Folkestone and Ashford is closed this evening after a lorry fire.

The motorway is now shut London-bound between junctions 11 and 12 as a result of the blaze.

Kent Police says the driver of the lorry escaped with a minor hand injury.

Traffic is being diverted along the A20 and there are long delays in the area.

Four fire engines from Kent Fire and Rescue Service, along with a water unit, are dealing with the fire.

UPDATE: The road reopened at 3.30am on November 30.
