ACTOR David Tennant has arrived in Thanet to film a new BBC drama.

The former Doctor Who star shot scenes in Margate's Hawley Square with ex-EastEnder Lacey Turner, who played Stacey Slater.

The 40-year old Scottish was in the park with the soap star on Monday lunchtime as passers-by gathered to catch a glimpse of the Doctor who swapped the Tardis for a chauffeur-driven Bentley to leave the area after filming wrapped up.

He was also spotted outside the Theatre Royal and at Arlington House.

Love Life will be directed by the award-winning Margate-born writer Dominic Savage and is due to be screened on BBC One next spring.

The five episodes centre on five characters played by Tennant, Jane Horrocks, Billie Piper, Ashley Walters and David Morrissey.

For all the inside info on the filming, see this week's Isle of Thanet Gazette.
