A BRAND new car was stolen from a driveway in Paddock Wood yesterday (Thursday).
The black Audi S4 estate was taken at 6.05am outside a home in Greenways.
The car also contained a Dell laptop as well as other expensive items.
When police attended the scene they discovered signs of a break-in at the home.
They treated the incident as a burglary as keys had been taken in order to remove the vehicle.
The car was later found in Swanley, locked and secure, at 10.15am.
Earlier this month, between October 8 and October 9, a similar incident took place when a BMW was stolen from a property in Ashcroft Road.
In this instance, the home was broken into and car keys stolen. The car is still missing.
Police are not treating the thefts as linked, but are warning people in the area to be vigilant.
A Kent Police spokesman said: "You can take some steps to reduce your chance of becoming a victim of this type of crime.
"Check and double check your doors and windows are locked when you go out, or at night.
"If you have UPVC doors or windows don't just pull them closed, make sure you lift the handle to engage the lock properly. If possible secure the car in a garage, blocked in by another vehicle."
He added those who spend a lot of money on their car should install a vehicle tracker system.
