Appeal for witnesses after 60-year-old Ashford man assaulted

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Ashford in which a gang of youths hit a 60-year-old man with a stick.

The attack took place as the man was walking through the car park of the health centre in St Stephens Walk, Ashford, at around 7.40pm on Wednesday, December 12.

He noticed a large group of youths in the car park and, as he approached his car, a stick was thrown at him.

 

One of the group then ran over, picked up the stick and started waving it in the victim's face.

 

The offender became verbally abusive before walking away but as the man went to get in his car, he was hit in the back with a stick.

The victim, was left shocked, but not injured. The offender is described as white, aged 13 to 15-years-old, around 5ft 6in tall and was wearing a blue tracksuit.
