TRIBUTES have been paid to a 13-year-old boy who has died after falling 20 feet from the roof of the former Hovis mill in Ramsgate.

Cameron Tidey was inside the derelict site in Margate Road on Tuesday afternoon when he fell from the roof onto concrete ground.

Cameron, a pupil at the Ellington and Hereson school in Ramsgate, suffered severe injuries to his head, pelvis, spine and limbs and was flown by air ambulance to the Royal London hospital in Whitechapel.

Friends of teenager left cards, flowers and teddy bears at the site and hundreds have paid tribute to Cameron on a Facebook page set up in his memory.

A tragic accident and waste of a young life. My condolences to Cameron's family. Children will be children, and this derelict site is an open invitation to come and play. I hope the site is now made safe and secure so no more children are injured or killed there. Warning signs must be erected as a matter of urgency.
